My name is Dario, and I bring over 30 years of experience in alpinism, mountaineering, and big wall climbing.

 

I first visited Demir Kapija Canyon 28 years ago and immediately fell in love with this exceptional place. At the time, there were only 13 alpine-style routes. From my very first climbs here, it became clear to me that something truly special could be developed. Today, Demir Kapija offers nearly 400 routes of various styles, and I am proud to have established almost 100 of them, including sport climbing, multipitch, trad, and alpine routes.

 

For the past 25 years, I have worked as a professional guide in rock climbing, hiking, trekking, freeride skiing, ski touring, and off-road driving—both throughout North Macedonia and across most Balkan countries. Alongside guiding, I have been deeply involved in education, serving as an alpinism instructor in my alpine club for over two decades and, for several years, as the lead alpinism instructor for the Federation of Mountaineering Sports of Macedonia. Teaching and sharing knowledge has always been one of my greatest passions.

I have also been active in mountain rescue for 24 years as both an instructor and rescuer, taking part in more than 1,030 rescue missions. Helping people—whether in critical situations or through skill development—has always been at the core of what I do.
